"From the moment we started chatting with the owners, the experience of the Kona Beach Bungalows was amazing and a dream come true! The house more than accommodated my family and all of our needs, wants and expectations. As you enter the home, your mouth drops with amazement that this is truly the place where we get to spend the week! As you tour all the bungalows and eventually make your way to the backyard, your current excitement is then tripled by the view in front of you! The ocean waves crashing right before us! The pool, the grass the palms, the sand! All of it was amazing! We even had a turtle to greet us in our own tide-pools! Lounging in chairs by the edge to watch the sunset was the daily ritual! We had 25 of our guests enjoy this property with us, all there to enjoy our wedding day which took place right there! It was the best wedding you can imagine! We spent a week in paradise and were able to celebrate the Big Day in an environment we all already felt conformable in!
With 25 people (including 3 babies) all staying in once location, you would think disaster- but it was not! The private bungalows and expansive property gave everyone just enough of private and social time! The Master Suite was perfect for us! Especially used as a Bridal Room for all those special "glamour" moments with my ladies!
The home came equipped with everything we needed to enjoy the kitchen, make ourselves at home and seriously have the best time ever!
The owners and their island hosts were great to work with!
Thank you for providing us the best venue for our wedding and the best vacation with so many of our loved ones! I highly recommend skipping out on the resort-destination wedding where everyone gets their own room- instead pull all your resources together and stay at the Kona Beach Bunaglows! You will be so happy you did! (there are great local caterers, rentals and Dj services to call upon, too)" -- Robin H.
“We had
such a great time on Kona and the bungalow was amazing, especially the
lanai! It was really great that you had
beach chairs, coolers, golf clubs, snorkel gear etc. for us to use. The boys
used the clubs twice. We also went fishing and caught 60 lbs. of mahi mahi. Amazing
trip, we will definitely be back :). “

“You are
very welcome, we will definitely stay again. My sister in the Seattle, Washington area saw our facebook pictures
and absolutely loved it. She called and
asked about our stay because she wants to take her family and stay there as
well. I highly recommended your
wonderful home”.

“Great
set up for a large group of people. Our bungalow was well decorated, well
equipped with furnishings and perfectly laid out for a family of four. With 6-7
rental vehicles to deal with, the parking was obviously a bit hairy at times,
but we were able to work through it. Mario was great about being attentive to
the needs we had throughout the week. The sea wall was a special gathering
place for all! With the pool right there this was a perfect setting for
entertaining the kids and cooling off in the afternoon while still getting to
enjoy the ocean view! Great find!

If I had
one expression to share, it would be: If
you're "restless to be listless*," Kona Beach Bungalows is your destination. “Restless to be Listless" was the title of the only song I
ever penned. A guitar-playing friend of mine put it to music, and sang it at my
retirement ceremony.

“I felt like there was
no better way to reconnect with family members I haven't seen in years, family
I haven't seen in a couple weeks, and new family members that I
made during the stay. Waking up and going next door to have breakfast, drinking
coffee by the seawall, and watching the sunset with everyone were the
highlights of my trip. I really developed a greater appreciation for my family
and I can't wait to see them all again”. - Nicole
We just returned from our second trip to the Big Island of Hawaii and had a wonderful stay at the Kona Beach Bungalows. We were travelling with several others, so rented three of the five bungalows offered here. We had the pleasure of staying in the Kahakai Bungalow, which suited us perfectly! All of the appliances and furnishings are top of the line, and beds are very comfortable. We especially liked the geckos that hung out on the walkway and greeted us every day.
The shared areas were beautiful and lush, and we fully enjoyed watching the sun set every night from the oceanfront yard, as well as the turtles that came into the lava rock pools every morning.
We had a few problems when we first arrived (like a lack of hot water due to the solar hot water system and a few cloudy days before we arrived), but these were promptly looked after by the property management company. We can't wait to stay here again the next time we go to Kailua-Kona!

"I wanted you to know how
much Coley and I enjoyed your house, and to thank you for your
hospitality. The house was absolutely perfect, and our guests had a
blast. Further, we more than appreciated the ability to stay late on
Thursday – which ended up being a blessing as our flight that night was
cancelled due to mechanical difficulties"
Warm regards, Niel
“Absolutely stunning, amazing and fantastic!”
“The best wedding we’ve ever been to, hands down!”
“The wedding was better than ours, and we did a great
job!”
“How did you find this place? It’s gorgeous!”
These are just some of the comments our guests made about our
wedding. A princess wedding was what my
wife had always wanted and I wanted to be sure her childhood dream came true,
so when we started searching for a wedding location only the best would do, we
had already ruled out the Four Seasons at Hualalai, the Hilton and Marriott
hotels at Waikoloa all due to location and that they are so far from town we
would have to hire buses to get people to and from the venue.
So, after extensive searching and head scratching, a golfing buddy of
mine suggested the Kona Beach Bungalows, stating that they may be just perfect
for us. I contacted Mario straight away and organized a viewing of the entire
property. It was amazing and instantly my Fiancée and I knew this would be the
place we would be married.
Over a year of planning then begins, with many vendors wanting to see
the property so they knew all the details to ensure the perfect wedding. This
involved a great many visits to the property, and at all times Mario and Darci allowed us entry if no other guests were staying in the main house. I couldn’t
believe how helpful they were... indeed a very true aloha spirit, that is also
reflected in the furnishings and finishes.
So, at the start of our wedding week our guests began to arrive and were shown to their accommodations. We wanted both families close so they could bond and that is exactly what happened in the comfortable surroundings. With each family cooking for one another, it worked out better than we had expected, and we think it was due to the atmosphere created by the bungalows, both calming and familial.
We then had 3 days of hustle with caterers and organisers, from first the bridal shower, then the rehearsal dinner and finally of course the big day.
We had a clear 30x30 Marquis tent
erected in the garden with plenty of seating organised inside, just in case of the occasional downpour, with plenty of space in the rest of the garden for us to have an outside ceremony, a refreshment tent and a staged photobooth for enjoyment. There was not any sensation of being cramped.
Our caterers utilized the gourmet kitchen in the main house to create
the most amazing meal I think I have ever eaten and indeed most of our guests
would agree, with thanks to Chef Katherine Louie, Chef David Paul and their
team for going above and beyond.
After the ceremony and the meal came the music and dancing on the lanai
of the main house. After the buffet line was cleared away, the area became the
perfect dance floor and the lighting created by our DJ team was electric, with uplighters providing ambience
on the pillars of the house and a full lighting rig on the lanai, all courtesy
of DJ Tiger Productions.
It truly was a perfect day and everything flowed together
seamlessly, My wife and I had the best
start to married life that I believe possible and all thanks to Kona Beach
Bungalows.

We and our guests (30+) all stayed at the Kona Beach Bungalows 3 days before and after the wedding. We booked on vrbo.com, so we intended on having a private and unique wedding at a vacation home. What an incredible place! My review could be a mile long on how fabulous everything turned out, but I'll try to sum it up. I got to choose every vendor and have them at the bungalows - it was completely custom to us. The scenery is incredible, accommodations were beautiful and high-end. Mario is the owner and was very easy and great to work with. If I were to guess, planning this wedding was much more difficult then just showing up to a hotel that has everything for you, but this was 100 times more unique and incredible. Worth the money and work!! Can't wait to spend an anniversary at the Bungalows! :)

I want to thank you on behalf of our group of ladies that enjoyed your beautiful home for a week in Kona. The accommodations and location could not have been better for our group. We all felt like princesses as we were lavished by the beauty of both your home and the ocean. Thank you so very much for sharing everything with all of us.
We were so encouraged at how well everything that we were doing fit into your home. Our desire would be to be back again.....very soon! If you ever need a reference or recommendations let us know. Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Kimberley -May 2014
WOW!
Your place is stunning! Moana Hale is so warm and quintessential
Hawaii. We had a wonderful time. Judging from the many family photos
throughout, your home is clearly filled with loving memories. I'm happy to
report that we added a few of our own as well. Our two families had a terrific
time together. It was like pulling teeth to get the kids to leave on excursions
- they just wanted to "hang out" and enjoy the property. After much
discussion and debate, the koi each have new names that I'd be happy to share
with you.
